Able Taxi – an old-fashioned taxi company established in 1985, has witnessed the town’s various growth spurts throughout the last 26 years; seeing it all – while staying open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.


John Beck, Owner, has been a part of Able Taxi’s evolution and important local heritage. While adhering to above-standard service and customer courtesy, including free wake-up calls and parcel pick-up and delivery – Beck’s company pride spawns from an organization full of locals who grew up in the area and possess keen historical knowledge.


"The majority of our customers were raised in-or-around Orillia," says Beck. "So we feel a strong connection between our business and the people we serve." A sense of belonging and personal duty is what Beck agrees keeps him dedicated and passionate.


"We appreciate that our drivers can show visitors the city through their eyes, and let them understand just how special this place really is."


Able Taxi’s commitment to staying prevalent in the community is effortless – partaking in events on a routine basis and supporting various causes and initiatives catered to all kinds of people and groups present in the area. Events such as the Orillia Blues Festival, Spring Boat, Cottage & Outdoor Show and the Perch Festival, which will be celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, are all dates that Able Taxi will be represented at.


"These events are important to the residents and we happen to employ quite a few of them!" laughs Beck.


When asked to make a statement about what he wants people in the Orillia area to know about Able Taxi, Beck replied, "We truly care and love our role in the community".
